Let’s take a look at the Big Ten Conference as the basketball and hockey seasons are winding down and the baseball season ramps up.
Basketball
- Purdue: 15-3 (22-7)

- Michigan State: 14-4 (23-6)
- Wisconsin: 12-6 (20-9)
- Maryland: 12-7 (21-9)
- Iowa: 10-8 (21-8)
- Minnesota: 8-10 (18-11)
- Ohio State: 8-10 (18-11)
- Rutgers: 7-11 (14-14)
- Illinois: 7-11 (11-18)
- Indiana: 6-12 (15-14)
- Nebraska: 5-13 (15-14)
- Penn State: 5-13 (12-17)
- Northwestern: 3-15 (12-17)
Purdue has used a late season surge to vault into the top spot, as Maryland and Wisconsin jockey for the No. 4 seed and last double-bye in the Big Ten Tournament. The tournament starts next Wednesday, March 13. Maryland wraps their season up against Minnesota on Friday, March 8 and Wisconsin still has games against Iowa March 7, and Ohio State March 10 to determine the No. 4 seed in the conference tournament.
Hockey
The Big Ten Hockey Tournament starts this Friday, March 8 with three best-of-three series. No. 2 Notre Dame will host No. 7 Michigan State, No. 3 Minnesota will host No. 6 Michigan, and No. 4 Penn State will host No. 5 Wisconsin. The lowest seed to advance will play the Top-seed Buckeyes, who are on a bye due to winning the Conference in the regular season, on March 17.
Baseball
Baseball season is just getting underway but there are some good looking teams so far!
